Joint pain – what can we do to ease it?
Joint pain is commonly due to either an injury or arthritis. While there is no magic supplement or pill to take to cure it there are a number of steps you can take to try and manage joint pain. Its important for everyone to look after their joint health and take preventative measures to manage it, even from a younger age, as it is something you will really thank yourself for down the line! So what can you do to help yourself?
Your diet can play a big part in managing joint pain and is a simple first step to take. Inflammation in the body can cause joint swelling and pain so any steps you can take to avoid that will be really beneficial. If its possible its really important to eat lots of anti-inflammatory foods such as avocado, walnuts, flaxseed and turmeric. These foods are highly nutritious and full of healthy fats and micronutrients which give the body what it needs.

On the other side of the coin there are some foods which should be avoided as much as possible. Highly processed foods, fried foods and foods that are high in sugar can really increase inflammation in the body, which is not something you want when you are suffering from joint problems as this can increase pain in and around the joint. Deep fried foods in particular are full of trans fats which are linked to high levels of inflammatory markers in the body. High sugar diets really contribute to inflammation in the body as well and should be avoided as much as possible. While we know these foods may taste good often they leave you feeling bad afterwards and may cause inflammation long after you have eaten them.
There are a few supplements that we usually recommend for people suffering with joint pain. No one is necessarily better than the other but you have to find what works for you. We will give you a quick run through of our top 3 products that we usually recommend, based on customer reviews.
Revive Active Joint Complex: Definitely our top recommended product for joint problems. Revive Joint Complex is an all-in-one support for cartilage, bones and connective tissue. It has a great high dosage of collagen, glucosamine and msm, all of which help support the joints. It comes in a handy sachet form that you just stir into a glass of water and drink first thing in the morning, so its easy to take.
Zincuflex is another fantastic product. It contains curcumin which is the active ingredient in turmeric, a brilliant natural anti-inflammatory. It also contains ginger which may help the absorption of the turmeric and vitamin C which contributes to the normal function of bones and cartilage.
Quest Glucosamine is another really good selling product for joint support. Its been around for years and for us is a product customers really remain loyal to because they say it helps them immensely. Don’t forget to check with your healthcare provider if you are on any medication which may interact with any supplements.
We also do frozen turmeric shots for joint pain, which you can defrost and take or pop into hot water to make a turmeric tea packed full of goodness!
