Simple Simon’s – Our Eco Policy
We all have our part to play in protecting the environment, at Simple Simon’s we are firm believers that small changes can make a big difference.
To encourage change in our local community we give talks in local schools and at events like the Donegal Food Festival, on how to cut down on waste.
Waste from single use items is a huge problem today. In store we have lots of different ways of helping tackle this. We have refill options for household cleaners, body care products and our new food refill station allows you to only buy as much as you need, helping cut down on food waste and packaging.
We have a wide range of eco goods such as reusable straws, cloth menstrual pads, beeswax food wraps, shampoo and shaving bars.

A lot of time and thought is put into any packaging we use in store. Our coffee cups and Deli packaging are compostable. But they are still single use, so we have just this year pledged to phase out single use cups permanently, opting instead to supply our customers with “2Go Cups” which is a deposit and return coffee cup scheme. Similarly we have cotton bags that you can return for your money back, or we are always happy to pack your shopping into a box.
You can recycle your crisp packets in store through our Terracycle programme. We also have a party rental box to cut down on single use waste from parties.
We don’t claim to get everything right, there is always room to grow and new things to learn, but we try hard to think about our environmental impact.
